The last several years have seen drastic cuts in government funding
of graduate medical education. Managed care and TennCare have made it
more difficult for hospitals to fund graduate medical education.
The Foundation is becoming more and more important to support the teaching and research activities of our faculty and residents.
Their research presentations at state and national meetings are
evidence of the state-of-the-art quality care provided by the
University faculty. Recruitment of high quality residents and faculty
enhances the medical care available to the residents of Chattanooga.
Few cities of Chattanooga's size are able to boast that they have a
medical school.
Your tax exempt donation to the Internal Medicine Education
Foundation will greatly improve our ability to maintain the quality of
our graduate medical education program for our internal medicine
residents and help provide Chattanooga with the highest standards of
medical and ethical care and the most up-to-date treatments available
in modem medicine.
